Our school and staff have really taken Early Literacy Support to the next level.
We began with one ELS group with the junior syndicate leader working alongside the Reading Recovery teacher and then we organised a second teacher to work alongside Reading Recovery teacher with another group.
The data was showing only 1/4 of the students to be on track to be meeting expectation in reading by the end of this year. With the support we are now giving our learners through Reading Recovery and ELS, we are aiming for (and are on track for) 60% of students being at expectation by December.
